Happy First Anniversary to Kate and Turanga!
Kate and Turanga had a late morning ceremony in the chapel followed by lunch at The Stables, one of the restaurants at Stones of the Yarra Valley. It’s a beautiful property overlooking the hills and has several dining options depending on the size of your wedding.
The weather was stormy as we arrived at Stones with thunder, lightning and heavy rain but fortunately during the ceremony it cleared so Kate and Turanga could experience Stone’s petal shower as they left the chapel! Whilst guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the Old Dairy, the four of us headed off down to the vines for the photos, storm clouds were still lingering which gives the photos a very dramatic feel to them! We also had to get plenty of shots of Kate’s stunning dress, very elegant with the fabulous back detail!
The Stables looked stunning with flowers decorating all the tables and each guest was given a gift of a bottle of olive oil from Kate and Turanga’s own trees!
After some beautiful speeches, the sun had come out and guests were able to chat and catch up in the garden. Kate and Turanga had international friends and family from Kate’s native UK and Turanga’s New Zealand. With the sun arriving Kate and Turanga said they would like some more photos in the vines and as you can see these have a totally different look to them!
Soon it was time to say goodbye to their guests but not before Turanga’s brother arranged a traditional Haka to wish them well for the future.
It’s always a privilege to be asked to shoot another family wedding so we were delighted to capture Kate and Turanga’s special day having met them at Samantha and Corey’s wedding the previous year! We will also look forward to another wedding celebration in the family next year!
